Batter of the Month (May):
Dan Brouthers of the Frisco Eagle's was named the Batter of the Month for May by the League Office.
Brouthers led the league in slugging percentage at .677, runs scored with 27, extra base hits of 18, and 63 total bases. He
was second in the league with a .387 batting average, also second with a .457 on-base percentage. Brouthers had multiple hits
in 14 games in the month.
Pitcher of the Month (May):
Greg Maddux of the Channing Bomber's was named the Pitcher of the Month for May by the League Office.
Maddux started 6 games, all of them were quality starts, all of them he was credited with the victory. He pitched 4 complete
games, 2 shutouts and went at least 8 innings in all but 1 start. He allowed a rediculous 35 hits and 6 total earned runs combined
in his starts, a total of 50 innings. Maddux was second in the league with an ERA of 1.08.
July 10, 2010 at Comerica Park. The Barracudas squeezed by the Cruisers 1-0. Drabek earned the win, making him 9-5 on
the year. He was a workhorse, throwing 129 pitches in this contest. His ERA dropped to a nice 2.52. With this defeat,
Ruffing evens his record at 5-5. Kern nailed down the save. Lynn led the winners with a 2-4 day, including one 3B and
one RBI.
July 8, 2010 at Comiskey Park I. The Patriots
were blanked by the Dreamers 5-0. Pete Alexander improves his record to 8-6, with the victory. On the losing end was Shawkey,
he is now 7-6. Vaughan paced the winners with a 3-5 day including one 2B. He raised his average to .311.
July 10, 2010 at Huntington Avenue Grounds. The Dragons escaped with
a 4-3 win over the Hitmen. Colon ups his record to 6-3, with the win. Newly acquired Randy Johnson took the loss, even
though he recorded 12 strikeouts in a complete game while throwing 142 pitches. He now has a 9-6 record. Henneman
saved it, giving him 18 on the year. Gehringer led the Dragons with a 2-4 performance including a homerun and one RBI.
