In a back-to- back, home-road two game set, the Cruisers had 8 players who struggled offensively.  Luckily for them, Willie McCovey did not share in the drought.  In the first night, McCovey hit a three run triple in the top of the ninth.  The Cruisers scored five runs in that inning to win the game 7 - 5.  In the second game, McCovey was again the key to a five run inning, this time in the seventh.  He hit a grand slam, his second home run of the night, and the Cruisers won again 7 - 5.  In all, the Cruisers scored 14 runs, 11 of them off the bat of the original "Big Mac".
